Lieto Creative Dance is a renowned dance school located in Fitzroy North, Melbourne. With over 30 years of experience, Lieto has been inspiring the community with dance, music, and creativity. Lieto's classes cater to various age groups, starting from mothers and babies. In the Mothers & Babies class, mothers and their little ones aged 4. 5 months to walking can experience the delight of dancing together, exploring new music sounds, and different patterns. The Parent & Toddlers class is designed for toddlers aged walking to 2 years, who energetically explore movement and rhythm while enjoying mediaeval stomp and gentle melodies of renaissance dance music and folk songs.
Parents & 2-Year-Olds class allows parents to connect with their child through dance and movement, sharing a physical response to beautiful music while stimulating the child's imagination. Preschoolers are encouraged to explore movement by themselves, cultivating self-confidence, and creative initiative within a setting that sparks their imagination.
For younger school-age children, Lieto offers a unique creative process that differs from what is taught at schools or in sports. The classes create a non-competitive space where children can explore their creative potential through dynamic and meditative activities. Term 3 is dedicated to preparing for the annual performance, which is highly anticipated by families.
Older school-age children and teenagers build upon the concepts introduced in younger classes. Creative dance techniques and structured improvisations allow them to express themselves and devise their own choreography in collaboration with the teacher.
Lieto also offers adult classes, allowing individuals to find expressiveness in their bodies through lyrical depth in music and their individual creativity through the surprise of modern music. Adults can enjoy their time immersed in the aesthetic, dynamic energy, and lightness of dance.
