The Level 2 Skills Course offered by 1000 Islands Kayaking is perfect for experienced paddlers looking to enhance their skills for overnight and expedition tripping. You'll focus on mastering practical skills like a strong forward stroke, effective bracing, maneuvering in waves and currents, and advanced rescues including rolling and towing. It's all about building that control and confidence on the water.
This five-day course runs from 9 am to 5 pm, with an overnight camping experience between day four and day five. Remember to bring your own immersion gear (dry-suits or wet-suits) as they're not provided. Make sure to rent them in advance, especially if you're joining the course in May, June, or September for maximum comfort regardless of the weather conditions. And don't forget to pack a hearty meal for lunch to keep you energized throughout the day.
The price for the Level 2 Skills Course is $895 plus tax/fees, and we need a minimum of 4 participants to kick off a certification course. You can also join an existing course if spots are available. Booking online is convenient, but feel free to reach out to our office directly if you encounter any booking problems. Keep in mind that online booking closes before the course starts, so make sure to secure your spot in time.
Our cancellation policy aligns with Paddle Canada guidelines, with no refunds for cancellations made within 15 days or less of the program. Come prepared with rain gear and warm clothing as our kayaking adventures happen rain or shine. We'll provide spray skirts to help keep you dry, and don't worry - we won't cancel bookings due to rainy weather.
