The founder and principal teacher at Les Pas de Ballet is Suzuka Aoki. Originally from Japan, Suzi's passion for ballet was ignited at a young age. After studying ballet, contemporary, jazz, and music at the Arts Educational School in Tring Park, she completed Grade 8 Piano and RAD Advanced 2 with Distinction. Despite a back injury preventing her from pursuing a career as a dancer, Suzi redirected her talents towards teaching ballet.
She obtained her BSc in Economics Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and also gained the Pilates Teaching Certificate.
Suzi's extensive knowledge and expertise in dance are complemented by her MSc in Dance Science from the Laban Institute. She has a deep understanding of dancer's health and the prevention of injuries, and applies anatomical and biomechanical principles to optimise dancers' performance. As a freelance ballet teacher, Suzi has taught at various schools in London, including her alma mater's outreach programme, the Classical Ballet Academy of Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.
In addition to group classes, Les Pas de Ballet offers bespoke private lessons conducted by Suzi herself. These one-on-one sessions are tailored to focus on individual goals, whether for vocational dance careers, injury rehabilitation, or general progression in ballet. Suzi combines her immense knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, Pilates, and progressive ballet techniques with traditional classical ballet training to ensure that her students reach their full potential.
