Heronmarsh Pool is a small pool located in Rudyard, Staffordshire. It was dug out and created by the Leek and Moorlands Fishing Club, and it covers an area of approximately 2 acres. The pool features two islands, providing opportunities for different fishing techniques.
The main species that can be found in Heronmarsh Pool are Common and Mirror Carp, with weights ranging from 10 to 30lbs. However, the wily nature of the fish often makes them a challenge to catch. Additionally, Pike and Bream are also present in good numbers, with pike weighing between 4 and 20lbs. Bream specimens over 10lbs can also be found.
Tench, Roach, Rudd, and Perch are other species stocked in the pool, offering variety for anglers of different preferences.
Leek and Moorlands Fishing Club also has access to a stretch of the River Dove. The River Dove is a renowned river for fishing, known for its abundance of Trout and Grayling. Anglers can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the opportunity to catch these elusive fish in a beautiful setting.
The club's waters also include a stretch of the River Churnet. The River Churnet is perfect for those looking to fish for trout in a picturesque river. It offers a peaceful and serene fishing experience, surrounded by the stunning Staffordshire Moorlands.
