



Leeds Tai Chi Academy is a renowned school dedicated to cultivating health and harmony through the practise of Tai Chi, chi gong, and meditation exercises. Designed to strengthen, invigorate, and rejuvenate the whole being, their classes are suitable for beginners and are adaptable to different needs and capacities.
The indoor classes offer a variety of options for students. The Tai Chi beginners class is held on Mondays from 5:45 to 7:15pm at Stainbeck Hall. Drop-in rate for this class is 12, or students can avail a one-month all access pass for 40. Another indoor class option is the Tuesday session from 3 to 4pm at Bardsey Village Hall, with a drop-in rate of 10.
In addition to the regular indoor classes, the academy also offers extra indoor classes through various community organisations. These classes, such as the Cross Gates Good Neighbours Scheme (CGGNS) on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 2:30pm at Newman Centre and the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) on Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:45am at Meanwood Community Centre, are open to all and have a pay-on-door rate of 5.
For those who prefer online classes, the academy offers Chi Gong workouts on Tuesdays from 9 to 10am, Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm, and Thursdays from 9 to 10am. These classes are held on Zoom, and support in setting up the platform on computers or mobile devices is available upon request. The drop-in rate for online classes is 10, and there is also an extra online class on Fridays from 10 to 10:40am, which requires a monthly payment of 10 to Your Back Yard.
Outdoor Tai Chi classes are held on Saturdays from 8 to 9:30am and 10 to 11am at Meanwood Park's basketball court. These classes run regardless of weather conditions and have a drop-in rate of 12. Alternatively, students can opt for a monthly rate of 40, which provides unlimited access to all outdoor classes within the month, excluding the CGGNS Tuesday 1:30pm and RVS Thursday 11am sessions. This monthly pass also includes access to replays of the online sessions.

Aside from regular classes, the academy also offers workshops focused on Daoist Tai Chi and chi gung. These workshops are suitable for beginners and offer a deeper exploration of the movements and principles of Tai Chi as a self-healing art and therapy. The extra time in workshops allows for a more in-depth understanding and practise, enhancing the benefits of harmonising body, energy, and mind. Attending workshops allows for a faster and more effective progress in refreshing the body and mind, releasing stress and tension.
