Swimtime Yorkshire, the local swimming club in Mirfield, is excited to invite you to join their Baby Swimtime programme. Designed for babies and toddlers aged 0–2 years old, this 4-stage programme is a fantastic opportunity for little ones to learn how to swim, guided by the lovable Tabitha and Terry Turtle.
With parental support from birth, the Baby Swimtime programme progresses to the Swimtots programme, helping your infant gain confidence in and around the water. Not only will your child become more comfortable in the pool, but you will also develop new bonding skills while enjoying this fun and educational experience together.
Did you know? Turtles, like our beloved Tabitha and Terry, have great night vision and enjoy munching on fruit, snails, algae, and plants. They'll surely make your child's aquatic adventure even more delightful!
As part of the UK national franchise network of swim schools dedicated to teaching children how to swim, Swimtime Yorkshire focuses on Longden Lessons specifically designed for 0-2-year-olds. At each stage of the programme, your child will go through a series of activities that help build their confidence and skills in the water.
Stage 1 is all about introducing your child to the basics of swimming safely. They will gain confidence, learn different types of movements, and even practice submerging. Using support and performing basic water movements are also key components of this stage.
Moving on to Stage 2, the programme prepares both adults and children for physical activity in the water. Warm-up exercises and baby massage techniques are included to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Children will continue to build their confidence and contribute to their swimming skill development through various movements, while also practising submerging and using support.
