Guinea Gap Leisure Centre, a Fitness club in Wallasey, is proud to introduce Swim Wirral's comprehensive Learn to Swim programme for children in Wirral. No matter their swimming ability, Swim Wirral's programme is designed to cater to a wide range of skill levels and provide the necessary guidance for children to improve their strength and technique in the water.
Following the Swim England Learn to Swim Pathway and approved by the ASA, our programme offers lessons for Discovery Ducklings, Ducklings, Stage 1 to 7, and Academy levels. With lessons available 7 days a week at various swimming pools, there are plenty of options to fit your schedule. We even offer after-school hours on weekdays and some lessons on weekends.
The programme runs for 42 weeks a year, with children participating in one 20-30 minute swimming lesson per week. Upon completion, swimmers have the opportunity to progress to our Academy, where they can further develop their aquatic skills for competitive swimming and enhance their water confidence and lifesaving abilities. Exceptionally talented swimmers may even have the chance to join Peninsular Clubs participating in the swimming development pathway.
To ensure that each child is placed in the appropriate class based on their ability, a free swimming assessment may be required before joining the programme. At Swim Wirral, we understand the importance of making our programme accessible to all. That's why we offer a range of pricing options for swimming lessons. Adult Learn to Swim costs £10.00, junior swimming lessons are priced at £6.30, and Wirral Passport holders can avail Learn to Swim lessons for £8.00. We also provide different payment options, including monthly Direct Debit or purchasing blocks of 12 lessons with cash or card. Please note that an initial pro rata payment is required for the period between the first lesson and the first Direct Debit payment. If lessons are purchased in blocks of 12, we will send reminders when there are only 4 lessons remaining, allowing you the option to top up your lessons.
