Tweed Regional Aquatic Centre – Tweed Heads South (TRAC) is proud to offer learn to swim classes for both children and adults. Led by fully qualified teachers, our classes focus on making swimming a fun and enjoyable experience while providing a nurturing and safe environment.
Children as young as 6 months old can participate in our learn to swim classes. We believe in giving children the confidence to learn, grow, and discover their love for the water. That's why we recommend introducing babies to water familiarisation lessons from 6 months old.
At TRAC, our swim teachers are highly qualified with certifications from leading organisations such as Austswim, Royal Lifesaving Society Australia, and Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA). These certifications ensure that our teachers have the expertise to provide top-notch swimming and water safety education.
But it's not just children who can benefit from our learn to swim classes. Adults are also welcome to join our classes, where we focus on teaching freestyle as the basic stroke. If the group is willing, we can also explore and develop other strokes. Our instructors cover a wide range of skills including submerging, blowing bubbles, buoyancy, body position, kicking, arm stroke, breathing, and timing. These classes take place in our indoor 15m pool, and we highly recommend goggles for all swimmers.
Before enrolling your child, assessments are required to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level. We offer a free assessment that you can request by filling out our online enquiry form.
Our Learn to Swim classes are available 6 days a week across 3 Aquatic Centres, with morning and afternoon time slots to accommodate different schedules. The prices are $165 per term or $16.50 per class, making it accessible for all families. As an added bonus, new enrolments will receive a FREE Parent and Baby Class with every term booking. We also offer private lessons and school holiday intensive programs for those seeking a more immersive swimming experience.
