Leamington Athletics Academy (LAA) is a multi-event athletics club based in Leamington Spa, established in September 2011. Affiliated with England Athletics, LAA offers training for athletes aged 4 18 years old, as well as a full-body fitness Bootcamp for ages 14+.
LAA prides itself on providing comprehensive training in all track and field events. Whether you're interested in sprints, distance running, jumping, throwing, or any other athletics discipline, LAA has experienced coaches who can guide athletes at every level. The club aims to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where athletes can learn, develop, and reach their full potential.
In addition to regular training sessions, LAA also organises various competitions and events throughout the year. These competitions provide athletes with valuable opportunities to showcase their skills, compete against peers, and gain experience in a competitive setting. LAA has a strong track record of success, with many athletes achieving notable results in regional and national competitions.
LAA operates on a monthly fee basis, with two payment options available. Athletes can choose to train once a week for 25 per month or twice a week for 35 per month. These fees cover term-time sessions, which are held on Mondays and Wednesdays. During half-term breaks, LAA offers special training sessions for all members.
It's important to note that LAA does not run sessions over the Christmas and Easter holidays, but holiday camps are available at an additional charge.
LAA offers training programmes for different age groups, ensuring that athletes receive age-appropriate and tailored instruction. The club has specific sessions designed for Track Tots (Reception & Year 1), Mini Academy (Year 2 & 3), Junior Academy (Year 4 & 5), U13 Academy (Year 6 & 7), and Teen Academy (Year 8-13). Each age group has designated training times on Mondays and Wednesdays, allowing athletes to choose the sessions that suit their schedule.
The philosophy at LAA is centred around the principles of Play, Practise, and Perform. Coaches at LAA use England Athletics' curriculum 'Athletics365', as well as their own LAA curriculum, to coach and assess technical proficiency. This approach ensures that athletes receive a well-rounded training experience that focuses on skill development, practise, and ultimately, performing at their best.
