Looking to stay connected to your roots? Join the League of Indian Nations of North America (LINNA), a non-profit based in North Bay. Since the early 1900s, LINNA has brought unity and understanding to nations across North America. Led by Standing Grand Chief Patrick Sarrazin, LINNA is dedicated to upholding indigenous values and traditions.
Founded on the rights and traditions of indigenous peoples and rooted in Canadian law, LINNA educates both indigenous and non-indigenous folks about Indian nationhood and citizenship's promises and obligations. It's about honouring our heritage and building strong relationships within our communities.
Don't think of it as joining an organization – it's embracing your birthright as an indigenous person. LINNA holds hundreds of Indian Nation Government Cards from the early 20th century, symbolizing our collective history. With the loon and moon as our symbols of peace and protection, LINNA stands as a beacon of unity and empowerment.
