


The Worx, a Contemporary Dance club in Sunderland, is excited to promote a local Contemporary Dance event organised by LEAD Education Performing Arts. This event is aimed at interested players who are passionate about Contemporary Dance and are looking for an opportunity to showcase their talent.
LEAD Education Performing Arts is offering a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice at The Worx Academy learning site. This two-year full-time education programme focuses on Commercial Dance and Musical Theatre, and is equivalent to three A-levels. The programme is worth up to 168 UCAS points (DDD*) and is delivered by highly trained professional artists and performing arts teachers.
What sets this programme apart is the support provided by LEAD Education Performing Arts to help learners achieve the highest grades possible. Learners will have access to student bursaries, UCAS guidance, pastoral care, education support, and GCSE re-sit opportunities. This ensures that learners receive the necessary assistance to excel in their studies.
The course covers a wide range of disciplines including Classical Ballet Technique, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Technique, Commercial Musical Theatre, Vocal Training, Drama, Tap, Stretch & Conditioning. It offers a comprehensive training program that prepares learners for a successful career in the performing arts industry.
One of the highlights of this programme is the regular live performances and professional casting opportunities. Learners can showcase their skills and gain valuable experience by participating in these events. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to attend weekly workshops with industry professionals, further enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Alongside the BTEC programme, learners will also take part in a full enrichment, industry-specific training programme. This provides them with additional opportunities to showcase their talent on a national level. They can participate in nationwide performances, professional pantomimes, Move It!, and an End of Year Show at The Sunderland Empire Theatre.
To be eligible for this education programme, auditions are required, and learners must have achieved five GCSEs grade 4 and above. The assessment will be done through practical performances, rehearsals, training sessions, controlled assessments, and assignments. This well-rounded evaluation method ensures that learners are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the performing arts industry.
Successful completion of this BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance opens up numerous opportunities for learners.
