Lawton's Cove Cottages

Lawton's Cove Cottages is a family-owned business located on beautiful Doe Lake in the Almaguin Highlands, just 25 km North of Huntsville Muskoka, Ontario. Owned by the Eadie family since 1989, Lawton's Cove Cottages offers modern housekeeping cottages with one of the best beachfronts in the area. The sandy beach is shallow with a hard sand bottom, perfect for small children, and there is a raft in deeper water for adults and older children to enjoy. Guests can also make use of the pedalboat, canoes, and kayaks provided for free.

The cottages, which open from June to September, are located in Katrine between Huntsville and Burk's Falls, with Arrowhead Provincial Park and Algonquin Provincial Park nearby. Boating enthusiasts will appreciate the connection of Little Doe, Middle Doe, and Big Doe lakes, offering hours of boating pleasure. Boats and motors are available for rent, and Little Doe lake is excellent for water sports such as water-skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, and windsurfing. Fishing is also popular on Doe Lake, with walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, perch, and sunfish being abundant.

Lawton's Cove Cottages is a popular choice for family celebrations, reunions, birthdays, and even weddings. The resort consists of six two and three-bedroom cottages, each with a front porch overlooking the beachfront and lake. The cottages are equipped with modern amenities such as electric heating, stove, refrigerator, and microwave, as well as kitchen essentials. Guests are required to bring their own bedding, but pillows, blankets, and comforters are not provided.

The grounds at Lawton's Cove Cottages are well-kept with a play area for children, horseshoe pit, basketball net, and central fire pit for nightly campfires.
