Welcome to Launceston Swim School, the BEST Swim School in Tasmania! We are proud winners of the 2020 Tasmanian AUSTSWIM Swim School Of The Year, making it our seventh time in the past ten years! Our team of fantastic teachers has also received multiple AUSTSWIM State Awards for their outstanding work.
Launceston Swim School is a family-friendly sports club located in Launceston, Tasmania. Our facility has been specifically designed for learn-to-swim and swimming lessons, and it also lends itself well to other activities such as aqua fitness and casual swimming. We take pride in providing a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
Our pool is custom designed and built for little ones' learn-to-swim lessons, as well as being great for aqua fitness and group sessions. It is heated to a minimum of 32 degrees Celsius all year round, making it perfect for the cooler Tasmanian winter days. The pool deck air is also heated during the cooler months, and the change rooms feature either a heat pump or under-floor heating.
The pool itself measures 17 metres long by 10 metres wide. One side is a constant 0. 8 metres deep with a shallow wet step area, while the other side is three lanes wide and ranges from 0. 9 metres to 1.
2 metres deep. We maintain sparkling clean water through a combined chlorine and ozone double philtre system.
At Launceston Swim School, we offer a variety of classes to cater to different age groups and skill levels. Our classes include Infants and Preschool, School Age Squads, Movement to Music, and School Groups. We also have a Holiday Programme for kids to enjoy during school breaks.
All of our teaching staff are AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualified, and they also hold current CPR Resuscitation qualifications. Many of our teachers have additional qualifications, including AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant & Preschool Aquatics, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Access & Inclusion (Teacher of People with Disabilities), and AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes Coaching Certificates.
