Jack from Launceston Cricket Club wanted to share a few words with our sports community about the club’s activities and spirit.
Launceston Cricket Club, based in Launceston, Cornwall, is a welcoming place for anyone who loves cricket—whether you’re an experienced player or just starting out. Jack mentioned that the club's main goal is to make sure everyone has a great time, with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. They’re also big on helping members develop their skills.
The club’s home ground, Lawhitton Down, has two well-kept pitches, offering a fantastic environment for both practice and competitive matches. Launceston CC competes in the Cornwall Cricket League with three senior teams—1st XI, 2nd XI, and 3rd XI—as well as teams for under-15s, under-13s, and under-11s for the younger players.
Jack also pointed out that the club hosts various social events throughout the year. These gatherings are great for building camaraderie and celebrating cricket among the members. They are also deeply engaged with the local community, working with schools and local organisations to run coaching sessions and cricket clinics.
