Welcome to Laneway Lodge, a leading horse riding school located in Newry, New Zealand. With our stunning location in the picturesque Mourne Mountains of Co Down, riders can experience the thrill of horse riding in a cowboy style.

At Laneway Lodge, we offer a wide range of services to cater to every rider's needs. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider, our qualified instructors are here to help you improve your skills and gain a deeper understanding of horsemanship.

Our trails take you through lush forests, river crossings, and even beautiful beaches, offering a unique riding experience that will leave you in awe of nature's beauty. We offer trails lasting 1, 2, and 3 hours, as well as half or full-day options that include a delicious BBQ. For those looking for an immersive experience, we also offer overnight camps in the mountains, complete with a BBQ under the stars.

Individual lessons are available for riders who prefer a more personal approach to learning. Our instructors are experienced in starting young horses under saddle and teaching respect to both horse and rider. We also offer clinics in natural horsemanship and desensitising horses to spooky objects, helping you build a strong bond and gain control of your horse.

At Laneway Lodge, we pride ourselves on our top-quality horses. We exclusively use purebred American Quarter Horses, known for their versatility, athleticism, and calm demeanour. In addition, we provide Western tack that adds an authentic touch to your riding experience.

Our dedication to safety is paramount. Laneway Lodge is DARD approved, ensuring that all safety standards are met. We have also been featured on TV with Gary Lineker's Northern Exposure, which is a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our riders.

For those who prefer to host clinics at their own yard, we offer clinics that focus on gaining respect and control of your horse. Our experienced instructors will provide you with valuable insights and techniques to improve your horsemanship skills.

Please note that there is a weight limit of 15 stone for all our horses to ensure their well-being.
