Established in 1967 by Jim and Pauline Prestidge, Ladywell Gymnastics Club has a rich history and is one of the oldest gym clubs in the UK. Over the years, the club has grown to approximately 600 members, ranging in age from 2 years to adults. We are proud to hold accreditations with British Gymnastics, Sport England, and the Home Country Sports Councils, which recognise us as a safe, effective, and professionally run club.
At Ladywell Gymnastics Club, our mission is to enrich lives through gymnastics. We believe that gymnastics is a sport for everyone, regardless of age or ability. It is a fantastic way to stay fit, improve flexibility, strength, coordination, and spatial awareness. Above all, it is a fun and enjoyable activity that can lay the foundation for success in other sports.
Whether your child dreams of performing a cartwheel or aspires to become an Olympic champion, we are here to help make their dreams come true. We offer a wide range of activities for boys and girls of all ages, including recreational gymnastics, competitive training, and specialised disciplines such as tumbling and trampolining. We also offer an adult gymnastics session on Tuesday evenings for those who want to stay active and have fun.
Our coaching staff is dedicated to providing the best possible instruction in a safe and inclusive environment. We prioritise the well-being and development of each member, and we strive to create a positive and supportive atmosphere in which everyone can thrive. We expect our members to treat our staff, fellow members, and facilities with respect and adhere to our code of conduct.
Ladywell Gymnastics Club has achieved notable recognition for its excellence. In 2013-2014, we were honoured with the prestigious British Gymnastics 'Club of the Year' Award, and our Club Manager and Head Coach, Shirley Callaghan, BEM, has received an 'Award of Merit' for her outstanding contributions to the sport. These accolades showcase our commitment to success and our dedication to providing exceptional gymnastics opportunities for our members.
We understand the challenges and impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we have worked diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of our members. After a period of closure, we are delighted to have the club back on a secure footing again. We extend our sincerest condolences to those who have lost loved ones during this difficult time, and we are committed to providing a safe, positive, and fun-filled experience for all who join our classes.
