Patrick Lacey wants to share a few words about what's happening at the Lacey School of Dancing in Brough. As many of you know, the school provides a range of dance classes and programmes tailored to suit everyone, from beginners to experienced dancers looking to perfect their skills.

What Patrick particularly values about the school is its team of experienced and dedicated instructors. They follow the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) syllabus, offering comprehensive training and allowing students to take examinations in various dance styles.

Students can take dance exams in sequence, Latin, ballroom, and freestyle. For the little ones aged three to ten, there are the Rosette and Stardance Awards, which let them explore different dance forms. Patrick encourages individuals with special requirements to join in these awards too.

For those interested in social dancing, Lacey School offers social dance awards without needing extensive dance knowledge. You can progress from Bronze to Gold, and even take additional exams like Gold Bars and Gold Stars. If becoming a dance teacher is your goal, there are professional exams and certifications available, including the Certificate in Dance Education (CDE) and Fellowship examination.

Classes happen at Elloughton Village Hall. Beginner ballroom and Latin dance classes are on Fridays from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. These sessions are open to all ages and skill levels, with a drop-in rate of £6 per class.
