About
Kyudo Qubec is a non-profit company founded in the fall of 1991, with a primary mission to promote Kyudo, the traditional Japanese art of archery, and facilitate its practice. The school aims to introduce individuals to the principles and discipline of Kyudo, allowing them to cultivate focus, precision, and mindfulness through the practice of archery.
The practice sessions at Kyudo Qubec are held on Mondays and Thursdays at two different dojos in Montreal. On Mondays, the practice runs from pm to pm at Circuit-Est located at 2022 Sherbrooke Street East, Montreal, QC H2K 1B9. On Thursdays, the practice is held from pm to pm at St-Jean-Berchmans Dojo located at 5945 rue Cartier, Montreal, QC H2G 1S7. Those interested in observing a practice session are encouraged to contact Kyudo Qubec to find out the schedule for the next information-demonstration evening.
Kyudo Qubec emphasizes values such as discipline, respect, and unity with the bow, arrow, and target. The school believes in the philosophy that the archer aims not just for the target but also for self-improvement and self-awareness. Through the practice of Kyudo, individuals can achieve a state of heightened awareness and oneness with their surroundings.
