At Kyoshin Shotokan Karate Club, family is at the core of our ethos. We encourage families to train together and provide attractive family discounts to make karate accessible to everyone. Our weekly classes cater to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring that every member can progress at their own pace.
The club has a strong track record of producing talented and successful competitors. Our members have won numerous medals at club, regional, and national levels, and we have proudly produced Welsh champions in both kata (forms) and kumite (sparring). Many of our members have also been selected to represent Wales at European and World championships.
While competition is an important aspect of karate, the heart of Kyoshin Shotokan Karate Club lies in our weekly training sessions. This is where friendships are formed, and the pursuit of excellence in character is emphasised. Our dedicated instructors create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, fostering personal growth, physical fitness, and mental resilience.
The club holds weekly classes at the Caerwent Community Centre on Sundays and Wednesdays. Sunday mornings are reserved for senior grade classes (1st kyu and above), followed by intermediate grade classes (3rd to 1st kyu), and junior grade classes for beginners to 4th kyu. Wednesday evenings offer general classes for all ages and skill levels.
