Kovalam Football Club in Arumanoor is more than just a football club; it is a thriving movement dedicated to empowering impoverished coastal communities by investing in their children's futures. Founded by State football player Ebin Rose and UK expatriate coach Patrick Sisupalan, the club was born from a simple, yet profound, desire to keep young boys off the beaches and away from antisocial activities. Registered as a charitable society, KovalamFC has obtained affiliations with the All India Football Federation and the Kerala Football Association, and is recognized by the Kerala Youth Welfare Board and the Government of India's Nehru Yuva Kendra.
The club’s unique approach blends athletic excellence with social responsibility. With the generous support of Federal Bank, which has sponsored the Senior Team for the 2029/30 season, KovalamFC recently held a month-long Residential Coaching camp, culminating in victory at the District Championship. The club also partners with Athletebit Healthcare for nutrition and KIMS hospital for medical aid, ensuring players receive top-notch support both on and off the field.
Education plays a central role in Kovalam Football Club's mission. Through a collaboration with Trivandrum International pre-School, two specially trained coaches deliver engaging football lessons to youngsters, laying the groundwork for both athletic and personal growth. The club is supported by a host of patrons and founding patrons including distinguished personalities like Dr. Shashi Tharoor, the Princess Gouri Parvathi Bayi, and Padma Bushan Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
KovalamFC’s achievements on the field are numerous, with a history of clinching various regional and national titles. The club's home ground, a regulation-sized natural grass stadium, stands as a testament to its commitment to providing the best facilities for its players. Located at M. V. High School, Neyyatinkara-Poovar Road, the stadium is the first and only club-owned stadium in the state, symbolizing the club's steadfast dedication to nurturing football talent and fostering community spirit.
