Kopas Boxing is a boxing gym located in Saskatoon, founded and directed by Gary Hocus Pocus Kopas, a seasoned professional boxer with nearly 30 years of experience in the sport. Gary's love for boxing began in 1992, and since then, he has competed in over 150 fights, winning numerous accolades, including capturing gold at the Canada 1995 Winter Games. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Gary aims to inspire, train, and lead youth and athletes, whether competitive or recreational, towards a stronger tomorrow.
Our coaching staff is led by Assistant Coach Catlin, a Red Seal Welder/ironworker turned Registered Massage Therapist and trained Manual Therapist. Catlin brings a unique perspective to the gym, combining his skills in body mechanics and injury management with his passion for martial arts and boxing. He believes in patience, passion, and practice as core values in training, striving to help individuals reach their maximum potential and go beyond their goals.
At Kopas Boxing, we offer private coaching services, as well as group classes for those looking to learn new skills in a supportive and challenging environment. Coach Gary specializes in competition preparation, offering sparring sessions and focus mitt training to help athletes get ready to compete at their best. Our monthly all-access membership provides great value for the expertise provided, giving members the opportunity to train with top coaches and like-minded individuals.
Our board, led by President Giota Korolis, Treasurer Sherry Franks, and Secretary/Treasurer Timothy Kolla, ensures that Kopas Boxing operates smoothly and efficiently, providing a safe and secure training environment for all members. With up-to-date COVID cleaning processes in place, frequent circuit classes, and reasonable costs, we strive to offer a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals of all skill levels to learn, grow, and challenge themselves.
