About

Koolyangarra Equestrian Centre is a horse riding school located in Carey Gully, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills of South Australia. Situated on 11 acres of stunning countryside, just five minutes from Stirling and 15 minutes from the Toll Gate at the foot of the SE Freeway, Koolyangarra offers a serene and tranquil environment for riders of all ages and skill levels.

At Koolyangarra, their primary focus is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all riders. Whether you're a beginner child as young as three years old or an adult looking to learn the basics of horse riding, Koolyangarra has experienced instructors who will guide you every step of the way. They offer both lessons on their well-trained horses and ponies, as well as the option for riders to bring their own horse. In addition, Koolyangarra also provides services such as re-education for horses and ponies, float training, groundwork, and training for young green horses.

The training at Koolyangarra is centred around relaxation and rhythm, which are considered the key elements of the German training scale. Students are taught to recognise the horse's body language, allowing any conflicts to be dealt with quickly and calmly. Children's lessons incorporate music and fun games to make the learning process enjoyable. The relaxed and calm rider-horse partnership is the main goal at Koolyangarra.

Lisa Finn, the owner and head coach, is an accredited Equestrian Australian Level 1 coach and registered with the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. With over 20 years of riding experience, Lisa's main interest lies in dressage. Her expertise and passion for horses make her an exceptional instructor who is dedicated to helping riders achieve their goals.

Koolyangarra offers a variety of lesson options to suit everyone's needs. Private lessons are available for 30 or 60 minutes, either on their horses or yours. They also offer casual lessons for those who prefer a more flexible schedule. Group lessons take place on Saturdays at 9 am and 2 pm, as well as Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 4 pm.

This is an ideal class for new riders who wish to gain a comprehensive knowledge of horse riding and horse management. Riders are paired with a horse and take part in grooming, saddling, leading, and riding lessons.

For those looking to explore the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Koolyangarra offers trail rides that provide an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a 60-minute trail ride through picturesque landscapes while immersing yourself in nature's beauty.

In addition to riding lessons, Koolyangarra also organises school holiday clinics filled with fun and educational activities for kids. These clinics offer a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and develop their riding skills while having a great time.

Whether you're an experienced rider or just starting out, Koolyangarra Equestrian Centre is the perfect place to learn, grow, and foster a love for horses. With their dedicated and experienced team, state-of-the-art facilities, and breathtaking surroundings, Koolyangarra guarantees a unique and unforgettable equestrian experience.
