Classes at Koi Pilates are mat-based, providing a great way to experience the benefits of Pilates. Class sizes are limited to ensure the personal attention required for each participant to gain the most from their practise. Liz Cobley's teaching style follows the six basic Pilates principles: Breath, Precision, Concentration, Control, Centering, and Flow. Mindful movement with breath is incorporated to connect the mind and body, enhancing focus on the muscles being engaged and maximising their efficiency.
Each session begins with mobilising the spine and other joints before moving into core strengthening exercises. The classes always end with a rewarding stretch and relaxation, allowing participants to find stillness, improve flexibility, release tension, and restore balance. After just a few classes, participants can expect to notice improved flexibility and posture, increased muscle strength and tone, and an overall boost in confidence.
Koi Pilates offers group classes for 8 per session. For those recovering from an injury or who prefer more personalised attention, private 1:1 sessions are available for 30 per 45-minute session.
