Kitty Kittley Fitness is a personal training and gym facility located in Hawkhurst, a charming village on the Kent/Sussex border in New Zealand. The gym is owned and operated by Kitty Kittley, a passionate fitness enthusiast with a diverse background.
Originally from the area, Kitty spent 20 years living and working in London before deciding to make the move back to Hawkhurst with her husband and two young children. In her earlier years, she worked as a scuba-diving instructor and eventually opened her own dive school and shop in London, offering diving experiences both domestically and internationally. However, due to the economic downturn in 2009, Kitty was forced to close her business.
Undeterred by this setback, Kitty decided to pursue her passion for movement, exercise, and the outdoors by retraining as a personal trainer and fitness instructor. She has been an active exerciser since her mid-20s but was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in 2008, which led to her having multiple spinal vertebrae fused after the birth of her son in 2014. This life-changing event pushed Kitty to take her health seriously and prioritise exercise and self-care.
Kitty firmly believes that exercise and movement are essential for a happy and healthy body, and that our sedentary lifestyles contribute to many common health issues. She witnessed firsthand the transformative power of exercise in her own life, both physically and mentally, and wants to share that experience with others. She is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their fitness goals, banish aches and pains, and create a stronger and more agile body.
As a level 3 personal trainer and certified British Weight Lifting instructor, Kitty is qualified to work with clients of all fitness levels. She is also trained in post-natal and prenatal fitness, allowing her to guide women through safe and effective workouts during these important stages of life. Additionally, she holds a level 1 certification in MovNat, a training methodology based on natural human movement patterns. This approach allows Kitty to incorporate functional and natural movements into her sessions, ensuring that clients are not only getting fit but also enhancing their overall movement abilities.
Furthermore, Kitty is a certified Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach, enabling her to provide clients with nutritional guidance and personalised meal plans. She understands the importance of a holistic approach to health and believes that exercise and nutrition go hand in hand.
