The Kitchener-Waterloo Racquet Club, established in 1962, is a gentlemen-only squash and social club located in downtown Kitchener, Ontario. Founded by R. G. R (Barney) Lawrence and 12 friends of squash, the club has been a thriving hub for competitive squash at all levels for over 60 years.
The facility, originally a family home, features two International Singles Courts, one North American Singles Court, and a top-notch North American Doubles Court, as well as a fitness centre, sauna, and comfortable lounge space with a fully licensed bar.
The club is active year-round with member ladders, house leagues, club tournaments, city league matches, exhibitions, instructional clinics, and social events. Run by a volunteer board of directors who are themselves members, KWRC is a not-for-profit organization that appeals to squash enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Members praise the club's welcoming atmosphere, competitive yet fair play, and unique camaraderie that transcends the game of squash.
The club's licensed lounge offers a selection of craft beer on tap for members to enjoy after their squash matches, adding to the social aspect of the club. In addition to squash courts, the facility includes a fitness area with free weights, a squat rack, training machines, medicine balls, war ropes, cardio machines, a rowing machine, and Schwinn Spin bikes for members to stay in top physical condition.
Whether you're a seasoned squash player looking for competitive matches or a beginner looking to learn the game, the Kitchener-Waterloo Racquet Club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Visit us at 138 Duke Street East in Kitchener or contact us with any questions you may have.
