Kitchen Dancing is a vibrant and energetic dance school, aerobics instructor, children's party service, entertainer, and physical fitness programme located in New Zealand. Founded by Jo Porter, a passionate dancer since the age of four, Kitchen Dancing brings the joy of dance and music to people of all ages and fitness levels.
Jo's love for dancing, especially to 80s and 90s tunes, led her to create Kitchen Dancing in 2017. With uplifting music and fun dance routines, Kitchen Dancing aims to keep everyone young and energised. Jo is a fully qualified Group Fitness Instructor and holds a degree in Contemporary Dance and French. She has also performed in various musical productions in Blackpool, Nottingham, and Derby.
This wide-ranging experience in dance and the arts gives Jo a unique perspective and enables her to create engaging dance classes and events.
Teenyboppers is a special segment of Kitchen Dancing, created by Steph, another 80s child and a lover of dance. Steph's passion for music and working with small children inspired her to combine the two, leading to the creation of Teenyboppers. Although Teenyboppers is relatively new, Steph's experience in dance and her enjoyment in working with young children shines through in her classes. She loves seeing the little ones interact with their grownups and grow in confidence.
Kitchen Dancing's classes cater to all ages and fitness levels, from toddlers to adults. The classes are fun and music-themed, taking participants on a journey through the decades, from the 60s to the Noughties. Teenyboppers offers a family-oriented experience, allowing children and their grownups to bond over music and movement.
In addition to regular classes, Kitchen Dancing also offers parties and events. Whether it's a special celebration, a corporate event, or a community gathering, Jo and her team can create a fully bespoke disco party experience tailored to the client's needs. Their interactive dance routines and energetic atmosphere guarantee 100% fun for everyone involved.
Kitchen Dancing has gained national recognition, being selected as one of Small Business Saturday's official Small Biz 100 in 2020. Jo was also recognised as an #ialso2021 entrepreneur by Small Business Britain's F:Entrepreneur. These accolades highlight the dedication and passion behind Kitchen Dancing and its commitment to providing exceptional dance experiences.
Whether it's in-person or virtual, Kitchen Dancing offers a wide range of dance fitness classes, exciting parties, and bespoke events. Join Jo, Steph, and the rest of the Kitchen Dancing community to experience the joy of dance, music, and fitness in a unique and inclusive environment.
