Kinetic School of Performing Arts is a well-established theatre school, dance club, and musical theatre company located in Cardiff. Founded in 2013 by Director, Choreographer & Teacher Kris Crowley, Kinetic is dedicated to providing a high level of training in singing, dancing, and acting. Their mission is to equip performers with the necessary skills and experiences to enter the performing arts industry, while instilling the ethos of training while performing.
At Kinetic, performers have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of performance opportunities, allowing them to put their skills into practise and develop their confidence, stage awareness, and ability. Every year, Kinetic stages a variety of productions and projects at prestigious performance venues such as The Richard Burton Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and The Atrium (University of South Wales). They also collaborate with other companies and organisations, performing at concerts, charity events, and festivals.
Kinetic prides itself on its high reputation and standards, and the company maintains an industrious pace to ensure excellence and teamwork. The performers, including past, present, and alumni, are outstanding ambassadors for Kinetic and its continued success in the performing arts.
All staff and workers at Kinetic are highly qualified teachers in their respective fields, and they have undergone Enhanced CRB DBS checks. The company also ensures strict safeguarding measures are in place, with trained First Aiders present at every rehearsal.
In addition to their theatre school and musical theatre company, Kinetic offers Kinetic MINI'S for children aged 3–6 years old. These classes focus on acting, dance, and singing, providing a nurturing and welcoming environment for children to develop their talents and build their confidence. The classes are led by early years teachers, and children have the opportunity to learn new songs, explore rhythm and timing, try new dance moves, and engage in role play and improvisation.
Classes for Kinetic MINI'S take place on Fridays from 5-6:30pm at Bishop of Llandaff High School, and on Saturdays from 10-11:30am at Kings Monkton School. These classes aim to help children learn new skills, have fun, make friends, and develop their confidence in a creative and supportive environment.
