Kinetic Martial Arts is a well-established martial arts school located in Chelmsford, offering kickboxing, health, and fitness classes for both adults and kids. With a dedicated team of skilled instructors, Kinetic Martial Arts aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for students to learn and improve their martial arts skills.
Head instructor Jolie Boyle is a highly accomplished martial artist, holding a 4th-degree black belt in kickboxing under the BIKMA federation since October 2020. She is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training under her coaches Daniel Lewis of St Albans Submission Grappling and Cesar Lima of Grand Union Jiu Jitsu. Jolie is a fully qualified instructor and CRB checked, allowing her to teach classes and provide one-on-one sessions for both adults and children.
Jolie has not only honed her skills through teaching but also through competing in kickboxing. She has achieved remarkable success in various competitions, including winning 1st place at the WUMA world cup in October 2011 and securing 2nd and 3rd place in light continuous competitions. Jolie has also fought in a K1 bout for a charity event at The Emirates stadium in London and has trained in Muay Thai at Cobra Gym in Thailand.
In addition to her kickboxing achievements, Jolie has dedicated herself to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since May 2011. She has excelled in this martial art, becoming the British Female Blue Belt Featherweight champion in May 2013 and the Master 2 blue belt featherweight World Champion in November 2014. Jolie has also achieved high rankings in the IBJJF World rankings and has won prestigious championships such as the IBJJF British No Gi Championship and the Pan American Open class championship. In April 2023, she received her black belt from Cesar Lima, head coach of Grand Union Jiu Jitsu.
Assisting Jolie in teaching the kids' classes is Gemma Old. Gemma's martial arts journey began at a young age, training in Japanese ju-jitsu for 8 years and achieving her yellow belt. She comes from a family with a martial arts background, as her father holds an impressive 8th Dan Black belt in Ju Jitsu. Gemma rediscovered her passion for martial arts when her daughter joined Kinetic Martial Arts, and she has been a dedicated member of the team since 2015.
Gemma plays a crucial role in teaching the Tuesday kids' class and assisting with the Saturday morning classes.
