Member of the Karate BC Executive Committee and the KSI Western Canada karate referees committee. Sensei Krista is passionate about teaching and passing on her knowledge and experience to her students.
Sarah started training Kimura Shukokai Karate with her mother, Sensei Krista, as a way to stay active and learn self-defence. She quickly fell in love with the art and the community and has been training diligently to improve her skills. Sarah holds a Shodan (1st Dan) black belt and is dedicated to supporting and mentoring new students in their karate journey.
At Kimura Shukokai Karate Royal Oak, the focus is on creating a positive and inclusive environment where students can learn traditional karate techniques, improve their physical fitness, and develop essential life skills such as discipline, respect, and perseverance. The club offers classes for all levels, from beginners to advanced, and provides a pathway for competitive athletes to excel in both local and international competitions.

Frequently Asked Questions
We offer Little Ninja's (4 to 6 years), plus Youth, Teen, and Adult karate classes. Our traditional Kimura Shukokai style focuses on natural body movement and builds confidence and fitness.
All classes are at Cordova Bay United Church, 813 Claremont Road. Monday nights are 5:00 to 5:30 pm for Little Ninja's, Tuesday nights are 6:30 to 7:30 pm for Teen and Adult, and Friday afternoons are 4:30 to 5:30 pm for Youth, Teen, and Adult.
New students get the first class free. Pricing includes options for 1 class per week and 2 classes per week, plus a Karate BC fee and an annual KSI fee, with fees payable on the 1st of each month and payment by cash, e-transfer, or post-dated cheques.
