Kim Boon is a dedicated swimming instructor based in Gloucester, New Zealand. With a passion for the water, she aims to motivate, inspire, and educate all swimmers to improve their knowledge, confidence, techniques, and efficiency in the open water.
Kim is not only a fully qualified Sports Therapist, but also a Tutor, Assessor, and ASA swim coach. She has extensive experience and knowledge in the swimming industry, backed by her own personal achievements in various sports including Triathlon (GB Age Group Team), Running, Netball, Endurance events, Surf Lifesaving, and Open Water Swimming.
Kim's love for swimming and the open water has led her to specialise in swim coaching 1 to 1 and introducing people to the joys of open water swimming. She has helped numerous triathletes and swimmers of all levels, from beginners to elite, improve their swimming technique and confidence.
You can find Kim regularly swimming and coaching at local venues. Her dedication to the sport has inspired her to expand her services beyond her current Owensis Sports Therapy Clinic business. She now runs Kim O Swim, offering 1 to 1 coaching sessions at an Endless Pool in Pamington, Tewkesbury for stroke-specific work, as well as 1 to 1 sessions in the open water at Lake 31, Cotswold Country Park & Beach. She also offers small bespoke group sessions and summer “Mastering Open Water Swimming” group coaching courses.
For those looking to enhance their skills, Kim provides timed training swims to challenge swimmers and triathletes to swim against themselves, the clock, or each other. In the winter months, she offers a swim technique clinic at Brockworth Sports Centre, consisting of a series of five sessions once per month, aimed at breaking down and building up the front crawl stroke for the upcoming season.
Kim is enthusiastic about encouraging and motivating more people to get involved in open water swimming in a safe and professional environment. She believes in helping individuals achieve their swimming goals, improve themselves, and experience the excitement that open water swimming brings.
