Killester Basketball Club prides itself on its strong sense of community and teamwork. We believe that the true beauty of basketball lies in the camaraderie and support amongst our players, coaches, and families. With approximately 500 playing members, Killester Basketball Club welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels.
Since its founding in 1967 in the car park of Killester School, the club has grown and expanded to include teams competing in various leagues, from Super League to Senior Dublin Leagues. Our teams train and play in 4 different gyms across Dublin, allowing for a wide reach and accessibility for all members.
One of the highlights of the club is the vibrant and lively atmosphere during home games at the IWA gym in Clontarf on Saturday nights. Families come together to support their loved ones, while kids have the opportunity to bond with their teammates and enjoy the excitement of the game.
Throughout the year, Killester Basketball Club hosts a range of events, including Fun Days and Preseason Tournaments, to bring the community together and celebrate the sport. The club also provides detailed information on the locations of our courts, ensuring that spectators and opponents know where to find us for games.
With a rich history dating back over 50 years, Killester Basketball Club has established itself as one of the oldest and most successful civilian basketball clubs in Ireland. Under the guidance of founder Michael Casey, the club continues to uphold its values of teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship.
