Kikkit Dance

Kikkit Dance is a vibrant dance school located in Mooroopna, a suburb in Victoria, Australia. Founded in 2007, Kikkit Dance has grown from a small dream into a joyful dance community where students not only learn the art of dance but also gain valuable life lessons and skills. The welcoming and nurturing environment at Kikkit Dance encourages students to be themselves and strive to be their best.

Operating in both Mooroopna and Kyabram, Kikkit Dance maintains small class sizes to ensure that every student receives the attention and opportunities they deserve. The studio values commitment, hard work, and dedication, and believes that every student can succeed as long as they are giving their personal best. At Kikkit, you don't have to be the best dancer, but you are encouraged to try your best.

Kikkit Dance is owned and operated by Kristy Hussey, who has a deep passion for teaching children and instilling confidence in them. Kristy discovered her love for dance as a child, dancing at a studio in Stanhope and Kyabram. She firmly believes that Kikkit Dance is a place where any child can dance and be themselves, free from the pressure of striving to be the best. Kristy holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and runs a Family Day Care when she is not teaching dance.

In 2018, she obtained her teaching qualifications in Dance Teaching & Management at Transit Dance in Melbourne, learning from renowned industry leaders.

The dance programmes at Kikkit Dance include Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop and Kikkit Kidz. The Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop class is a combination class suitable for students aged 5 and above. It incorporates elements of jazz, funk, and hip hop, allowing for flexibility in adapting to students' abilities and interests. The class offers current music and movement, delivering the traditional Kikkit experience that students have come to love.

Kikkit Kidz is a preschool programme designed for children aged 3–5 years old. It provides a fun introduction to dance in a safe and nurturing environment. Led by Kristy, who is not only a qualified dance teacher but also an experienced Early Childhood Educator, Kikkit Kidz aims to instil confidence and bring out the best in every child. Students will enjoy a 45-minute class that focuses on the basics of dance, music, and movement, tailored to their developmental needs.
