Kickstart Evolution Limited is a Football Club located in Loughborough, New Zealand. Founded with the mission to provide opportunities, create lifelong memories, and unleash the baller within, Kickstart offers a range of sessions and programmes for children of different age groups.
At Kickstart, they believe in creating an environment where children can not only learn the sport but also make friends and master the ball. The sessions are carefully designed to develop players physically, socially, psychologically, and technically with a ball at their feet. They aim to build physical fitness, improve technical skills, enhance decision-making abilities, and instil confidence in tight areas.
The club offers sessions for different age groups, starting with “Footy Tots” for 3-4 year old preschoolers. These sessions are joint sessions for children and their parents to have some fun together, introducing them to the basics of football. The “Fundamentals” programme is developed for children aged 4–6 years, focusing on building physical, psychological, and technical skills. These sessions aim to lay a strong foundation for young players.
Kickstart also collaborates with local grassroots junior football clubs through their “Grassroots” sessions, which aid the pathway into organised sport. These sessions are delivered in conjunction with local clubs to provide a comprehensive learning experience for young players. In addition, Kickstart offers a coaching pathway for local volunteer coaches. Through webinar sessions, coaches can chat through solutions to common problems, learn from special guests, and guide their coaching journey.
For players aged 7–16 years, Kickstart offers Futsal development sessions. These indoor sessions, based on the Futsal format, aim to improve confidence on the ball, decision-making abilities, and awareness within tight areas. These sessions provide a unique opportunity to enhance skills and enjoy the sport all year round.
Kickstart's commitment to providing high-quality coaching and memorable experiences is well-recognised by parents. One parent, Estelle O'Donoghue, expressed her satisfaction, stating that Kickstart had helped her son build friendships and develop skills while enjoying every minute of every session.

Kickstart is led by Jan, a qualified grassroots coach in Football and a key part of the Loughborough Students Futsal club. With years of experience in both Football and Futsal, Jan has taken over from Karl and Dave to continue their ambitions of providing meaningful, exciting, and memorable experiences for children starting their football and Futsal journey.
