Kiama Charter Service

Welcome to Kiama Charter Service, a premier fishing charter and boat rental service in the beautiful coastal town of Kiama. We prioritise the safety and comfort of our passengers, which is why we require all passengers to be fully vaccinated and practise physical distancing on board. Our boat, “Kostalota”, is a spacious 12m or 40 feet long vessel with ample deck room for fishing. It is licenced by NSW Fisheries and in full AMSA survey for passengers.

Rodney and Ann Garard have been running Kiama Charter Service since 1995, ensuring a wealth of experience and expertise in providing memorable fishing experiences. Rodney, our skilled skipper, holds a Masters qualification and is accompanied by a dedicated deckhand who assists with various tasks such as cleaning fish and untangling lines.

Our charter trips depart from Kiama Harbour at 6am, allowing you to hit the ocean almost immediately. There are reefs in proximity as well as those further afield, offering a range of fishing options. Choose between reef fishing trips within a 15 km radius of the port, or deep sea fishing at the continental shelf 30 km out.

One of the benefits of fishing with Kiama Charter Service is that you do not need a personal fishing licence. We provide all the necessary fishing tackle and bait, and offer tuition if required. To keep you energised during your fishing expedition, we include Ann's famous Anzac biscuits as part of the morning tea.

Our charters are available seven days a week, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day, subject to favourable weather conditions. The approximate duration of our trips is from 6am to 2pm. Booking in advance with full payment is essential to secure your spot on our charters. Payments must be made within seven days of reserving a date, or immediately if the desired date is within two weeks.

Refunds or transfers are only granted if we have to cancel the trip or if the skipper deems the weather unsuitable for fishing.

To make a payment, we offer various methods, including internet banking, direct deposit, Mastercard/Visa over the phone (1% merchant fee applies), and cheque or money order (clearance required). We require full payment upfront.

Reef fishing is a popular option throughout the year, targeting species such as snapper, morwong, leatherjackets, and flathead. We can accommodate groups of up to nine people for reef fishing trips. If you prefer a more specialised deep-sea fishing experience, we recommend booking between May and September. During this period, you can catch deepwater species like Blue Eye Trevalla and Gemfish.

Deep-sea fishing trips are exclusive to single-group boat bookings.
