At the heart of Khandallah, Wellington, Mark Gleeson champions the Khandallah Bowling Club, a welcoming spot for both casual and competitive lawn bowlers. Easily accessible via bus and train, it's a breeze to get there for everyone.
For those who enjoy a relaxed game, the club hosts casual roll-up sessions every Tuesday and Friday from 9am to noon. No uniforms needed—just flat-soled shoes. The club supplies the bowls, and with minimal instruction, players are quickly part of the action. In winter, roll-ups start at 10:00am, and in summer, they kick off at 1:30pm. Remember your sunblock and water bottle!
If competition is your thing, Saturdays are for you. Arrive by 9:50am in winter or 1:20pm in summer to get in on the action. Sessions might feature the challenge ladder (singles), pairs teams, and club championship games.
Considering membership? The club offers various options, from full membership to social membership. Just fill out a membership enquiry form on their website.
Throughout the year, the club hosts numerous social and competitive events. Tuesday and Friday roll-ups start at 9:30am and finish by noon with a morning tea break. Saturday sessions vary with the seasons, starting either at 10:00am or 1:30pm.
Mark Gleeson’s Khandallah Bowling Club is the place to be for lawn bowls enthusiasts, offering something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out.
