Kew Dance Arts (KDA) is a renowned dance school located in Richmond, London, UK. Founded in 2013 by Director Christine Ng, KDA offers professional dance instruction for children and adults. The school's mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can explore their love for dance and develop their skills.
Classes at KDA are held weekly during term time at two convenient locations in Kew and East Sheen. The school offers a wide range of dance styles and creative dance classes suitable for all ages and levels. This ensures that there is something for everyone at KDA.
For children under 5 years old, KDA offers engaging and creative classes such as “Itty Bitty Ballet & Tap” and “Itty Bitty Ballet & Creative Dance. ” These classes serve as an excellent introduction to dance and help develop the little ones' coordination and confidence.
Primary school-aged children (ages 5-10) have the opportunity to explore multiple dance styles within one class period. KDA offers classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary, allowing children to express themselves beyond just ballet.
For ages 11 and above, KDA offers classes for teens to study privately and semi-privately, providing them with the opportunity to enter festivals and perform at community events alongside more advanced dancers.
Adults who grew up dancing and want to get back into the studio can join KDA's range of classes designed specifically for them. Classes such as contemporary, American jazz, and classical ballet are offered to cater to the diverse interests of adult dancers.
In addition to regular classes, KDA offers various special events and performance opportunities. All children have the chance to showcase their talent in the annual Christmas and Summer Shows. The school also organises ballet exams, social dance events, holiday camps, and even birthday parties for a complete dance experience.
One exciting addition to KDA's programme is the inclusion of the all-new Rambert Grades contemporary dance syllabus classes. This inclusive dance programme is suitable for all ages and will be taught at KDA and academic schools.
KDA is led by Director Christine Ng, who has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Minor Degree in Sport, Health, and Leisure Studies from the University of Iowa. Christine brings her tremendous performance and teaching experience to create a welcoming and enriching dance environment at KDA.
