

Kerala Watersports and Sailing Organisation (KWSO), based in Ernakulam, is a beacon for sailing enthusiasts and water sports aficionados. Since its founding in July 2009, KWSO has cultivated a vibrant community centered on the love for yachting and power boating, welcoming over 700 participants of all genders to 70 training sessions. The organization's commitment to safety and security, adhering to international standards, ensures every participant enjoys the thrill of watersports in a safeguarded environment.
Proudly affiliated with the Yachting Association of India (YAI), KWSO stands as the first and only YAI-accredited training center in Kerala, and one of only ten nationwide. This prestigious recognition underscores the organization's dedication to excellence in training and community engagement. The state's exclusive status for yachting underscores the club's leadership in promoting and nurturing the sport within the region.
KWSO’s events are a testament to its dynamism and community spirit. The ILCA Open Championships 2022, held in Bolgatty, Ernakulam, showcased competitive spirit across various categories, including Olympic Classes and newly added Optimist & Enterprises Classes. This grand event brought together over 100 participants from more than 20 YAI-affiliated clubs across India, fostering camaraderie and competitive excellence.
Beyond competitions, KWSO is deeply involved in fostering a culture of adventure and exploration through events like the yachting training session organized during the 57th Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race in Alleppey. Whether honing skills or enjoying a riveting spectacle, members and visitors find a welcoming community at KWSO, bound by a shared passion for the exhilarating world of watersports and sailing.
