Founded in 2005 by Ms Eng Looi, a registered RAD teacher with 18 years of teaching experience, the school has grown from 20 students to now having 50 enrolled students.

The school offers a syllabus designed to develop young dancers, with an emphasis on building body strength, coordination, and the discipline required for learning classical ballet. The ballet classes at Kensington Ballet School are open to children from 3 years of age and above. To give students a taste of what the school offers, they are welcome to try an introductory class. The school offers a range of courses including Baby Ballet, Pre Primary, Primary Grade 1 – 7, and Intermediate. In addition to classical ballet, the school also offers Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Tap classes, providing a well-rounded dance education to its students.
