Welcome to KartSport Hamilton, located in haup, New Zealand. The kart club has a rich history, dating back to the early 1980s when it moved from a dirt track on Avalon Drive to its current location. Over the years, the club has undergone numerous upgrades and extensions, making it one of the top kart circuits in the country.
KartSport Hamilton has been proud to host various prestigious events, including National and North Island competitions, the CIK Trophy of New Zealand, Top Half Series, Rotax Challenge Events, and Shifter Series. One of the highlights of the club's calendar is the Annual Anniversary Meeting held every September, which attracts some of New Zealand's best drivers.
The club is passionate about providing opportunities for both experienced racers and newcomers alike. They offer regular club days where drivers can compete in different classes, such as Cadet ROK, Vortex Mini ROK, Rotax Max Junior, Vortex ROK DVS Junior, Rotax Max Light, Rotax Max Heavy, Vortex ROK DVS Senior, Rotax DD2, KZ2, and Clubsport 120. For those interested in getting started in karting, KartSport Hamilton also offers 'Have a Go' days, providing an introduction to the sport for individuals aged 6 and older.
The kart track at KartSport Hamilton offers two configurations: a long track and a short track. The long track measures 865 metres in length, while the short track is slightly shorter. Both configurations can be run clockwise or anti-clockwise, providing variety and excitement for drivers. The track is equipped with magnetic strips, ensuring accurate timing and enhanced racing experience.
In addition to the track, KartSport Hamilton provides practise days for drivers to hone their skills. Practise days are scheduled from 9 am to 5 pm on specific days. Members can avail of practise track hours at a discounted rate, while non-members can also access the track for a slightly higher fee. The club offers full kitchen facilities on race days, where drivers and spectators can enjoy a range of food options and refreshments.
Race days at KartSport Hamilton follow a well-structured timetable, starting with gates opening at 7:00 am. Scrutineering and entries take place from 7:30 am to 8:30 am, with entries closing at 8:35 am. A drivers briefing is conducted at 8:45 am, followed by tuning runs starting at 9:00 am. Most race days consist of one tuning run, four heats, and a final race.
Racing concludes at 5:00 pm, after which a prize-giving ceremony is held in the clubhouse.
The club prides itself on creating a welcoming and supportive community. After each race day, the clubhouse is open for presentation awards, providing an opportunity for drivers to meet fellow karters and celebrate their achievements.
