Since 2000, Peter Williams has brought the art of authentic Japanese karate to Napier with his esteemed gym, Karate Napier. If you're in the Hawke's Bay region and have ever thought about picking up karate, now's your chance. Peter's gym is now enrolling new students for classes suitable for all ages and skill levels. Karate Napier isn't only for beginners. Starting in 2023, Peter is introducing two specialised classes. The "Elite FightFit" class is tailor-made for those gearing up for competition, featuring high-intensity interval training, conditioning, and in-depth fight training. There's also a "Women's Only" class, led by female instructors, offering a supportive environment for women and teens.

With multiple locations across Napier, Hastings, Taradale, Meeanee, and Havelock North, it's convenient to get started. For instance, traditional karate classes are held in Hastings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Hastings Harrier Hall. In Napier, you can join a class at Napier Intermediate Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the same times.

Peter has made sure there are ample opportunities for everyone. In Taradale, kids aged 4-8 can join a junior class on Mondays from 4 pm to 4:45 pm at Arthur Miller School Hall. Meanwhile, in Havelock North, there's a beginners class on Sundays from 10 am to 11 am at Havelock North Function Centre.
