Kalanilayam Center for Dance is dedicated to spreading the vibrant and divine art of Bharatnatyam, a classical dance form that embodies spiritual and aesthetic richness. Established in January 2002 by Priya Nimkar Joshi, Kalanilayam operates under the esteemed guidance of Guru Dr. Sucheta Chapekar and is associated with the Kalavardhini Charitable Trust. This affiliation ensures a syllabus that maintains high standards of classical dance education.

The dance school's carefully structured programs cater to various levels of expertise. The foundation training spans six years and is thoughtfully designed to provide comprehensive education in Bharatnatyam. Intermediate and advanced courses allow students to further refine their skills, appearing for recognized exams such as Gandharva and Visharad. Additionally, short and special modules are available for passionate individuals who wish to explore dance or continue their learning despite a non-traditional background.
