Welcome to Kaizenkan Karate Australia, the West Logan Academy of Martial Arts Inc. located in Calamvale, Queensland. Chief Instructor and founder, Sensei Bob Scott, invites you to experience the world of martial arts at our esteemed dojo.

Our training times cater to students of all ages and skill levels. Junior students can participate in Little Warrior Classes held every Tuesday and Friday evening from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p.

m. As juniors progress, they have the opportunity to advance into senior classes. On Tuesdays from 7:00 p. m.

to 8:00 p. m. Students of all belt levels can engage in basic training and Kihon Kumite. Fridays evenings at 7:00 p.

m. focus on basic training, Kata, and Kumite. We also offer special Kumite Training on the last Friday of every month.

We offer avenues for both children and adults to participate in Sports Karate while also learning invaluable self-defence skills. At Kaizenkan Karate Australia, we prioritise a safe and friendly training environment where our students can learn karate, self-defence, and discipline. However, our club is not just limited to training sessions. We also organise camps, family day outs, and barbecues to foster a sense of camaraderie among our karate family and friends. The West Logan Academy of Martial Arts Inc. is an incorporated Karate-Do club established by the students of Kaizenkan Karate Do. We proudly serve the communities of Algester, Boronia Heights, Browns Plains, Calamvale, Chambers Flat, Drewvale, Forestdale, Greenbank, Hillcrest, Munrubin Woods, North Maclean, South Maclean, Park Ridge, Runcorn, Sunnybank Hills, and Jimboomba.

Our curriculum encompasses traditional (Shito Ryu) and non-contact Sports Karate. Developed over many years, our training programme includes self-defence techniques, the discipline of Karate-Do, and the ethics necessary for practising the sport. Participating in Sports Karate aids in the mental and physical development of our members, both young and old.

Under the teachings of Sensei Sadaharu Fujimoto, our club follows the principles of respect, attitude, and health. We are proud members of the Australian Karate Federation and actively participate in their tournaments, both at the national and state level. Over the years, our club has produced champions who have excelled in these events.

Shito Ryu Karate is our chosen style, one of the four main styles practised in Karate, alongside Shotokan, Goju Ryu, and Wado Ryu. Specifically, we practise the Shito Ryu style taught worldwide by the International Shobu Kai Karate-Do organisation. Sensei Fujimoto, an 8th Dan, serves as the head instructor. Shobu Kai translates to "with Honour” and “Budo,” forming an organisation that practises Budo, the way of the martial arts, with utmost honour.

As a recognised dojo of the International Karate-Do Shobu-Kai (Shito-Ryu Itosu-Ryu Karate School), we also align ourselves with the Australian Karate Federation and the Queensland Karate Association, the governing bodies for Sports Karate in Australia and Queensland, respectively.

Sensei Bob Scott, our dedicated instructor, has trained extensively in Japan to enhance his knowledge and skills. His commitment to cultivating excellence in his students is reflected in his intensive training.
