Kaiapoi Riverside Bowling Club, located in Hinemoa Park at 13 Belcher Street, Kaiapoi, has been a staple in the community since 1902. John and the team at Kaiapoi Riverside offer competitive and social lawn bowls for all, hosting community and corporate events regularly.
Despite setbacks like the 2010 earthquake, they relocated in 2014 and now boast a top-notch facility. Their members have a strong track record in Canterbury Centre and interclub championships, with some even representing Canterbury at the inter-Centre level.
John takes pride in the club's inclusive ethos and One Bowls philosophy. New members are warmly welcomed and coaching is available to everyone. They've got dedicated sessions for beginners and qualified Bowls NZ coaches focusing on developing younger bowlers. The club's all-weather artificial green is perfect for tournaments, with plans for a natural green in the future.
Not just for competitors, Kaiapoi Riverside also hosts social events at 4:30 pm every Friday and Saturday, creating a friendly atmosphere for all. The bar is open for refreshments, and visitors can play for a $5 daily Green Fee.
