The Junior Interfield series at Coronet Peak is the place to be for young alpine skiers looking to showcase their skills on the slopes. It's all about boosting the love for ski racing among the youth in Queenstown, New Zealand. Kids aged 15 and under can take on the dual slalom event, complete with an exciting jump to keep things interesting. This sanctioned race by Snowsports New Zealand is open to budding athletes in the U8 to U16 age groups. The action kicks off with Slalom on September 14, 2024, followed by the Parallel event on September 15, 2024.
To get in on the fun, participants need to sign up on the SSNZ website and snag a membership. There are different categories based on age groups, so be sure to register your young skier in the right one. Plus, after registration closes, competitors will receive a sweet 50% off lift ticket link. Coaches, parents, caregivers, or school helpers can grab bibs at the registration desk outside Guest Services. Keep in mind that there may be filming and photography during the event, but if you'd rather not be captured on camera, just shoot an email over to race@coronetpeak.co.nz.
