The Mt Osmond Golf Club (MOGC) is proud to offer a fantastic junior program that caters to young players between the ages of 6 and 17. This program creates a safe and friendly environment for budding golfers to not only learn the sport but also enjoy it to the fullest.
The MOGC junior program provides a wide range of clinics, including options for both members and non-members. With offerings such as school holiday camps, weekend classes, and after-school sessions, there are plenty of opportunities for young players to get involved. The program warmly welcomes newcomers, making it an excellent chance to introduce kids to the world of golf.
One of the highlights of our junior program is the MyGolf Clinics. These clinics are part of Australia's national junior golf program and are designed for all skill levels. Through a series of fun and team-based games and activities, participants will learn the 5 fundamentals of golf. They'll also be introduced to various aspects of the game, including the full swing, putting, chipping, and bunker play. These clinics take place on our top-notch practice range and short game practice facility, and both members and non-members can join. The cost for a term of MyGolf Clinics is $150.
To ensure that interested players stay informed, we advertise the MyGolf Clinics through our Facebook page and the MOGC website in advance of each term. So, make sure to keep an eye out for these exciting opportunities during the school holidays!
For young players aged approximately 8–12 years who are not quite ready to obtain a GA handicap, we offer the MOGC Junior League. This 9-hole interclub team match play event provides a fun and educational experience for participants. It's a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn the ropes of competitive golf while enjoying the camaraderie of their peers.
But it doesn't stop there! We also have school holiday clinics available for juniors of all abilities. These one-hour sessions are tailored to different skill levels, ensuring that every participant feels comfortable and engaged. So, whether your child is a beginner or has some experience under their belt, they'll be able to enjoy a clinic that suits their needs. Visitors are also more than welcome to join in on the fun!
If your child is truly passionate about golf, we highly recommend considering a Junior Membership at MOGC. Our Junior Membership grants young members access to all of our facilities and provides them with exciting opportunities to develop their golf skills. Throughout the year, juniors have the chance to compete in various competitions, including the prestigious Club Championship. This championship sees the top eight players progressing to match play, leading to an exhilarating final usually held towards the end of September.
But the opportunities don't end at the club level. Our junior members also have the chance to participate in other golf competitions and events at the state and national levels. This way, they can showcase their skills on a broader stage and truly push themselves to the next level.
