The Julie Stevens School of Dance, based in Chapel St Leonards near Skegness, is a renowned dance school that has been providing dance education to children and adults for over 30 years. Established in 1988, the school is passionate about nurturing talent and giving students the opportunity to shine.
The school offers a wide range of classes for all ages and levels of experience. From Little Starlets for the youngest dancers, to Adult Tap for those looking for a fun and energetic workout, there is something for everyone at the Julie Stevens School of Dance.
The school takes pride in its state-of-the-art studio facilities. The studio boasts two levels, with a full sprung floor and mirrored walls to provide the perfect setting for dance training. Additionally, there are dressing rooms and bathrooms on both levels for the convenience of students. The studio is available for hire for all types of classes and events.
The Julie Stevens School of Dance has a rich history of performances and achievements. Alongside annual IDTA examinations, students are given the opportunity to perform in amateur and professional shows including touring shows and pantomimes. Past performances have included collaborations with Alvin Stardust in 'The Butlins Story' and 'The Stephen Mulhern Show' at the local Butlins resort in Skegness. The school also stages its own production in Skegness, giving each student the chance to rehearse and perform alongside their peers.
Furthermore, the school actively participates in local carnival celebrations by the sea, making the most of its seaside location.
The school takes great pride in its family-oriented approach and the success of its students. Many former pupils have gone on to further their training at prestigious performing arts colleges such as Urdang, Italia Conti Performing Arts, and Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama.
The Julie Stevens School of Dance is run by Julie Luck, the Principal, who has trained in all genres of dance under the IDTA flag since the age of 3. Julie has a wealth of experience in the industry and has performed in various shows, including professional pantomimes at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre. She is supported by a team of dedicated teachers and professionals, including guest choreographer Cameron Hall, an accomplished West End choreographer who began his training at the Julie Stevens School of Dance.
