The roots of the school date back to September 2001 when the Association de Judo des Basses-Laurentides (AJBL) was founded by Daniel Dufour and Patrick Kearney, both experienced in the world of Judo. Starting modestly at the cole Primaire Plateau Saint-Louis, the school has since grown to become a hub for martial arts enthusiasts of all ages.
With over 300 years of combined experience among their trainers, Judo Blainville caters to students as young as 4 years old. The school boasts a membership of over 300 students per session, with more than 25 active black belt instructors available to mentor the young learners. The school has a strong track record of success, as evidenced by the recent achievement of six medals for Dojo Blainville at the 2022 Canadian Open Championships held in Montreal.
In addition to their impressive training programs, Judo Blainville also hosts special events such as visits from Olympic athletes like Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard, a bronze medallist at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
