Metro Judo Club in London is excited to announce an upcoming Judo event that all interested players won't want to miss! Get ready for the Mon Grade examinations, conducted in accordance with the Syllabus of the British Judo Association. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills and progress in the world of Judo.
Our club offers a range of six different coloured belts that cover the eighteen Mon Grades. From the vibrant Red belt to the prestigious Brown belt, each level represents a unique challenge and accomplishment. Minimum age requirement for Mon Grade is 8 years, so make sure you're ready to take on this exciting journey.
Candidates have the chance to be promoted one grade at a time, with varying time requirements and frequency of promotions based on their current grade. Novice up to 6th Candidates can be promoted once every calendar month, while 6th Mon and above are limited to one promotion every two calendar months. But that's not all! For those judoka who take up the sport at 12 years of age and above, Fast Tracking is available. This means they can earn up to three Mon grades at any grading in their first year of BJA Membership, up to the maximum grade of 6th Mon.
As judoka progress and grow older, there is a process for converting from the junior Mon grade to the senior Kyu grade. Once a judoka reaches the age of 18 years, their Mon grade should be formally converted to the appropriate Kyu grade. However, those who are 14 years and above have the option to convert their Mon grade to the appropriate Kyu grade.
Please note that all judoka who wish to be promoted at a grading examination must have full up-to-date Individual Membership of the British Judo Association. The fees payable to grade at Metro Judo Club are currently priced at £16, with £14 serving as a BJA grade registration fee.
