Jishin Karate Academy

Jishin Karate Academy, located in Swansea, is a professional club that upholds high standards in martial arts training. Established in 2024, the academy is led by the experienced martial artist, Paul Scott, who holds the esteemed rank of 7th Dan.

Paul Scott, having dedicated an impressive 52 years to the practise of karate, made the decision to retire from full-time teaching in April 2023. As part of this transition, he sold his dojo and all its contents to new owners. His students, however, were seamlessly integrated into other clubs within his association, Welsh Karate Kai.

With nearly 30 years of experience as a professional instructor, Paul Scott's decision to retire marked the perfect time to step away from the day-to-day commitments and financial responsibilities of running a highly demanding dojo. While he continues to be active in his associations, attending gradings, courses, and seminars, Paul Scott now focuses on teaching traditional “Wado Ryu” Karate and has distanced himself from the competition arena in light of the changes in WKF (World Karate Federation) rules and regulations.

Despite his retirement from full-time teaching, Paul Scott remains available for independent tuition and coaching. Clubs interested in joining his associations and federations are encouraged to reach out to him for more information. Currently, he represents over 600 Wado Ryu students and remains committed to providing them with quality training through regular courses, seminars, and gradings.
