
The Pembroke & Area Community Centre is gearing up for the exciting Jim Sloan Memorial Ball Hockey Tournament happening on May 25th, 2024, at the Pembroke Memorial Centre. This annual event, organized in partnership with Bogie's Bar, pays tribute to the memory of Jim Sloan, a beloved community member known for his contributions to various local causes.
Players of all ages are invited to participate in this fun-filled tournament, with three different divisions to choose from. Whether you're a young aspiring player or a seasoned veteran, there is a division suitable for you. Teams will engage in fast-paced 4-on-4 games, each lasting twenty minutes, with goalies guarding the net. Make sure to assemble your squad with a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 10 players per team.
Registration fees vary for each division, with the open division priced at $130 per team, the intermediate division at $105 per team, and the junior division at $80 per team. To secure your spot in the tournament, be sure to register by the deadline on May 21st at 4pm. Each team is guaranteed three games, with the chance to compete for the prestigious Hockey Town Cup. Additionally, players on the winning teams in each division will receive prize bags as a token of their achievement.
All proceeds from the tournament will be directed towards supporting local youth sports initiatives through BGC Pembroke.
